Sasha Alexandra spent her childhood in Miami, Florida. Her sculptures reference the Streamline Moderne architecture of the area in both vibrant color and form language. At 10 years old she took her first pottery class at a community art center and continued to hone her craft throughout adolescence. Alexandra attended the Kansas City Art Institute were she studied the ceramic vessel, but ultimately abandoned functional ceramics to create small scale sculptures. In 2013, she received a Windgate Fellowship Award from the Center for Craft, Creativity, and Design to travel throughout Europe studying historically significant ceramic collections. Alexandra currently resides in Fort Collins, Colorado and maintains an fruitful studio practice inspired by the surrounding natural areas.
